Harmony's Half Birthday!!!

Isn't she just gorgeous!??!?!

We all love our Harmony Joan.  She is very studious, very funny, very sweet and loving and also likes her space and alone time. 

She is my youngest baby that sits through an entire DVD of Your Baby Can Read or Baby Signing Time.  The other girls at this age, were done after 10 minutes, maybe 15/20.  Harmony watches the WHOLE thing, just studying it you can tell.  And she smiles and does a little excited squeal periodically too.

She is rolling across the floor already.  She pushes up REALLY strong on her arms. 

She loves, loves, loves "her people" and thinks her sisters are just the coolest.  She can watch them for a long time and smile.  She also tolerates being smothered quite well. 

Her daddy is also tops on her list. 

She sleeps really well.  And has just recently gotten a little sick for the first time in her life. 

She loves reaching for things, touching faces and having conversations with her toys.  Oh, and let's not forget pulling her sisters' hair.  She really loves that!

She just studies everything with those enormous "all-knowing" eyes, and I think we're all going to be in trouble with the intelligence this one has! Nothing will slip past her! 

She celebrated the day by sleeping, eating, pooping, getting a photo shoot then trying some bananas, which were a hit!  She's been really interested in food for a while!!

You were not liking the cold air and break from routine when I had to take you to a lesson with me. "Bob" was really concerned and is coming over to see what's going on! And he might have tried rocking you. Which I quickly stopped. :)

One Of My Favorite Things

This is you... doing something you do all the time. You're facing forward, but then I start talking. You turn your head around and look straight up at me and stare and stare with those LARGE, intelligent eyes! I've never seen such "all-knowing eyes".

Then if I look down at you you'll smile.

And you do this when you're nursing too. I pretty much can't talk if I want you to focus on eating because you just don't want to miss a single word I say!

I'll probably be trying to get better photo of you looking at me like this :-)

On the Go!

You're on the go already! I can't believe it...

Sleeping

You are a really great sleeper. I swaddle you tight still, then you lay in your crib on your tummy, usually awake and you might fuss a little but then just go to sleep. There have been a couple times where you don't fuss at all! Wow! Pretty impressive. Sometimes you sleep in your swing after falling asleep watching Your Baby Can Read (which you get all sorts of excited about). You'll take anywhere from 1 to 3 hour naps and right now you're only waking up 1x a night around 1:30ish, eat and go right back to sleep. Then you'll wake up around 6, eat and go back to sleep in your crib until about 7:30.

And occasionally I wait for you to be ready for a nap, then put you in the car seat and you nap on the go so we can go somewhere further away or get errands done.

Here you are yesterday morning. When you ate around 6, I just left you in my bed on your back asleep because you were so peaceful and beautiful and I loved watching you stretch and then relax back into sleep again.

Everything for you is about rolling right now! Here you are trying to roll over IN your carseat.

Tonight, you rolled from the couch all the way across the floor to the fish tank. Wow! At not even 5 1/2 months old. And you push up so high on your arms when you're on your tummy.

You're always studying adults and your big sisters. I have a feeling this "growing up fast" trend is here to stay!

5 Months Old

Happy 5 Months Harmony!!

Last night, you got to meet our dear friend Dr Kais and get adjusted by him too. You and Kais share the same birthday! He turned 50 on the day you were born.

5 Months: You weigh 15 lbs and are 24" long. Teensy tiny.

You are very proficient at rolling over. Now, you like to pull your sisters' hair just because you're proud of yourself for grabbing things! You pull on your at seat toy and rattle a rattle.

You are ever smiley and giggly. We all love you so much. You are also very still. You like your quiet time, don't like to fall asleep with a lot of motion, like the swing. And you like to just sit with a loved one and take in the world. Your big eyes don't miss a thing!! I can tell you're going to pick things up fast with the intensity in which you observe.

You're a joy!!! Thanks for coming to our family!

Hi Harmony-

We're at Grandma and Grandpa Hodgson's and you were just playing on the floor and went from your back to your stomach, but then just for the first time, after a short pause, you went from your stomach to your back. Your head kinda clunked the floor, but you didn't cry or seem startled at all, you just giggled! I can't believe I have to watch out for you being mobile by rolling across the floor soon! Loves!!

At Bed Time Last Night

Daddy and I put your sisters to bed and you were still awake with us in our bed. We were talking to you and saying your name and daddy said, "I love her name." I said, "I love it too. Harmony Hodgson. Harmony Joan."

We love you so much and you are SO precious. You have such a strong presence but it is so peaceful, sweet and funny too. You're a funny, smiley, happy little girl!

4 Months Old!!!

Wow. 4 Months Old.

You are sleeping through the night 90% of the time. You've never been colicky. You are so smiley and giggly. You love your big sisters. You are starting to bat at toys. You rolled over a few days after your 4 month day.

You are truly the sweetest, quietest, happiest baby. And it's not just me that says so!!

You've also found your voice and love to talk talk talk! Even quite loudly with cute little squeal and giggle sounds.

We love you!!
